THE KING'S GUARD

When the king’s safety as well as the safety of his daughter, Princess Gwendolyn (Ashley Jones) is at stake, there is a call to the King’s Guards to serve and protect. Queen Beatrice (Lesley-Anne Down) asks young and strapping Captain Jim Reynolds (Trevor St. John) to head up one such operation against the ruthless bandits lead by the evil Lord Morton (Ron Perlman).

Morton has recruited disgruntled former King’s Guard, Augustus Talbert (Eric Roberts). Talbert, once a trusted compatriot, is now widely known as a conniving traitor who defected after Princess Gwendolyn refused his hand in marriage. But in order to secure the safety of the king, Princess Gwendolyn now must marry someone. So, Gwendolyn promises her hand in a loveless marriage for the good of the kingdom. But once she meets Captain Jim, both are instantly smitten and Gwendolyn, in love for the first time, begins to dread her impending marriage.
